Life plans....

Anyone else make a plan for their life only to have it fall apart and have to alter it to fit? That's where I'm at once again at the age of 33. My original life plan fell apart at age 19 and I had to start over again, since I was 12 I knew I was going into the military and I was going to retire at the age of 37 after doing my 20 years of service. I joined the Army, was in when 9/11 happened (stationed in VA) but had tore up my shoulder so I ended up being medboarded at age 19 after only 2 years of active service (4 years altogether because of DEP).

So at 19 I came home and redid it. I didn't plan on being pregnant barely a year later. During this time I readjusted. None of my Army skills seemed to translate into civilian life so I got a job as a waitress and then as a stocker at a grocery store (where I would meet my daughters sperm donor). At 20 I had my daughter and when she was 6 weeks old left her father who has had nothing to do with her since she was 2 and she's about to be 13 in June. When she was 6 months old I was told she had neurofibromatosis type 2 (at 9 after a trip to the NF clinic in Boston found she was misdiagnosed and actually had Neurofibromatosis Type 1). At this point I was still waitressing and bartending while my dad would babysit for me and my daughter basically lived with him because of all the hours I needed to work to pay bills. After I was in a car accident that nearly took my life 3 times and left me with a fractured neck, broken L1-L5 and a damaged liver among other things me and my dad had a long discussion about my life plan as I was sinking doing wht I was doing. There are other things that happened during these 3 years but I'm not going into detail on everything.

Fast forward a few years and in 2008 I moved up to NY to be near my family and forge a new relationship with my mom (that relationship is still going good today). I got a job as a CNA at a nursing home (yeah I got my CNA license as part of that redone life plan discussion with my dad)  and met my now husband there. Him and my dad encourged me to go to the LPN program and further my life plan that way. So I started the program in 2009 and graduated in 2010 7 weeks after having our first son. We got married in 2011 and moved back down to SC in 2013 (yes I'm skipping some things).

Fast forward to now and why I'm redoing my life plan. I've been a nurse for almost 6 years and never had any doubts about my abilities or skills as a nurse, that is until my current  employer instilled those doubts in me. Now I'm sending out my resume to other healthcare jobs but also looking into other avenues as I'm having doubts about myself so i think I might have to redo my plan in order to make it work and be able to support my family, afterall we did add that third and final child (a boy :-) ) in March 2014.

its been awhile....

I know I've been gone for a really long time and I'm now basically having to start all over, which is fine because I started doing this for me anyways. A lot has changed since I was last on here and I'm not going to go into all those details. I will say that all my posts after this will be daily and I welcome any and all feedback from anyone who may stumble across my little blog and take a notion to read it.

My Review of the products in my #GoVoxBox

I recently received my #GoVoxBox full of great products to test out courtesy of Influenster.

The first product was the Lavender & Chamomile bath salt by Aqua Spa Bath. It smelled great, helped me relax and did not leave the grit in the tub like some bath salts will do.
The second product is the Next Step shakes and Jaxx cup from The Vitamin Shoppe. I got 3 different flavors: French Vanilla, Swiss Chocolate and Mixed Berry. They shook up with no clumps thanks to the shaker cup and all had a great creamy taste. They kept me full from breakfast to lunch. I didn't even have any cravings between meals!
Third was the Blue Diamond Blueberry Almonds. At first I was a little apprehensive to try them as I eat plain almonds all the time and didn't see the need to mess them up. I was wrong, they tasted great! They also make for a great snack on the go whether it be to the gym or on a bike ride. I will definitely be buying these in the future!
Fourth was the Pro Foot inserts and Pedi rock. The inserts made me feel like I was walking on air and when I ran my feet didn't hurt afterwards! The pedi rock made my feet soft and easily got rid of calluses with no pain. I was very happy with both of these.
The last product was the Playtex lightly scented sport tampons. I had never used scented ones before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was actually quite pleased with no leaks or accidents.
All in all I give all these products five stars and couldn't be happier! When these products are available to everyone I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I did!

My first voxbox

A couple of months ago I signed up for a really awesome site called influenster. I was lucky enough to get what they call a vox box in the mail. What that is a product that isn't on the market yet to test out and then give feedback on. My product was Rimmel London's new moisture renew lipstick. It definitely lived up to its name! Usually after a few hours my lipstick would fade and settle into the cracks this one did not and the color was bright and stayed that way fir over 8 hours! I loved this product and hope others will as well!

That nasty drink...

So I had to go to my Dr. appt today and do that awful 1 hour glucose tolerance test. That drink is absolutely horrible! It makes me cringe still just thinking about it and I've been done for hours. Hopefully one day they will come up with a better way to check for gestational diabetes because this is torture. Here's to hoping I pass so I don't have to do the 3 hour test.

I am officially 28 weeks and 3 days! Well over half way there and counting down the weeks until I can meet this little guy. We still do not have a name for the little doober yet as me and my husband just can't agree on one. I've picked out about 20 names and he doesn't like any of them. I started to pick on him about it saying he was just waiting for me to still be sedated after getting my tubes tied so that I would agree with whatever he said.

I have also only gained 18 lbs this pregnancy (so far) so I am quite proud of that fact as I usually blow up like a balloon as soon as the test comes out positive. I did make some changes to my diet this time around though which might have helped. I started to eat healthier before I even knew I was pregnant and just kept that habit up and do not give in to (all) my cravings as they get pretty wild and random.

I'm going to keep this one short as I am being called to watch Curious George by my 3 yr old. It's the little things that make me the happiest.

Happy reading y'all!!

We're expecting!!

So we found out a couple of months ago that we are officially going to be a Party of 5! We are going to have our 3rd (and final) child; due in March. It's another boy which brings us to 1 girl and 2 boys, I am outnumbered now! I am currently 26 weeks and counting! So far everything has gone as planned as far as no problems with the pregnancy, which I was worried about due to the fact that we did not find out until I was over 4 months. So keeping my fingers crossed that things continue to go well and that we get all the baby stuff we need.

I will keep you posted! Happy reading y'all!
